williwaw vs. zemlya, 14.10.2012

our comrade williwaw provides a bit of sonic counterpoint to "incontestably one of the greatest of all soviet films" (J. Rosenbaum). ЗЕМЛЯ (Earth) is Aleksandr Dovzhenko's spellbinding 1930 film on collective farming, dancing, pears and tractor coolant alternatives.
